These sea rocks came from my trip to Alaska and I brought them home in my suitcase. There's a little piece of driftwood there, too. The one with rings Amanda found and gave to me as she told me this is a wish rock. Now I look for wish rocks but the ones around here aren't round and smooth like that.
For many years I've collected round rocks. My neighbor was so taken with the idea that he and his wife have brought me round rocks from several trips they've taken.
I don't know why we pick up rocks, I really don't, it just satisfies the need to hunt and gather or something like that. Diane

Diane, you my Bella would get along just fine. She loves rocks!!! She can tell all sorts of trivia about rocks, I am sure she is my Mom reincarnate!!!
I love the heart shaped ones, I have never seen anything like that.... I will have to start paying attention!
Hugs,
Margaret B
Perhaps you're right about the 'hunting and gathering' instinct! I have a collection of heart-shaped rocks, and one special rock that looks like a dove. I don't know why they seem so special to me.....
That's just so neat, Diane. Someone gave me a "Pet Rock" once --which stayed on my desk at work for years. Then, we were given small rocks once when we were at a Bible Study. We were supposed to keep them with us (like the little Prayer Crosses) at all times to help us remember that God was with us.
I love your heart rocks especially and of course, the ones you got in Alaska.
Hugs,
Betsy
I scan the beach too Diane, the pretty ones end up boardering my gardens. Love the hearts! Hey! I'll send you a rock from Lake Huron's beach, if you send me one from Wyoming for my rock garden?
I love that you have these little nuggets to remind you of people and places Diane. ;c)
Hello Diane,
I've collected unusual rocks ever since I was a little girl. When my children were tiny, they would bring home heart shaped rocks for me... that created a "monster" and I've collected those shapes ever since! :)
I should have been an archeologist!!
Hugs to you!

I love your rock collection! I am running out of room in my house for all of the rocks that I cart home. It's a sickness . . . and I blame you.

The hearts are adorable.I have always loved rocks.but have not collected them, yet.I saw once where a Pastor brought a small rock to a person in the hospital. This was to remind the sick person to rely on Jesus our Rock.
Blessings,Ruth
Love the little heart rocks...... Rocks is something that I have never collected... My brother has a nice collection and he has one that is a perfect rectangle. I think it is about 4 inches by three inches and about 4 inches tall.. It is perfect.. It is coal black and very impressive to see..... He found it many years ago in the acres of woods outside our home in Delaware... But that is about all of my rock collecting information........
Have a great day today girl.. and I am putting that scrap book in the mail to you.. I have enjoyed reading it and my sweet husband Googled it and surprised me with one just like it....... soooooo I am sending your home to you.....
A fellow rock picker upper! Yahoo!
Darling daughter and I have collected heart rocks, since she was a wee thing, and now we find little glass hearts to give each other. A mother- daughter bond through centuries of earth's wonders.
