Nest

My little nest has finally found a wonderful home.  It looks perfectly delightful on the wall of my art studio.

Nest of Dreams

As soon as I saw these on 2 Bags Full I knew I had to have one.  Vicki creates these beautiful nests by hand with many different types of fibers and yarn.  If you look closely you can even see scraps of paper woven in, much the same as a real bird's nest.  It took a while to get it, she had many orders ahead of me but it just came and it was worth the wait.  This is a gift to myself for a brand new year - a nest of dreams.  It's so beautiful.  Thank you Vicki.                        Diane

Tiny Nest

A nice thing about the leaves disappearing from the trees - little nests appear that I had no idea were there.  This one is a very tiny little thing in the top branch of a tree.    Diane

Nest

When we were in the mountains I found this little nest. I started to turn it over but Leonard (always the cautious one) said "leave it alone, it's a mouse nest or some other little creature." It had been under the snow all winter. I wish I knew exactly what it was. Have a great day. Diane

Nest

While walking Rascal in the south forty the other day I got too close to a little cedar tree. Apparently a robin had been watching me get closer and closer. Finally with an exaggerated flurry of its wings it flew out of the nest about 3 feet from my head. Since I was there I turned to look where it had come from and this is what I saw. I didn't see any eggs, just this beautiful nest.

Sweet Little Nest

No, we didn't get more snow. This picture was taken April 4th and I believe it's the same birds that have built a nest in a little evergreen in front of our neighbor's house. I've noticed that every time I get a certain distance from the tree a little bird flies out. Last night when we were walking my husband peeked into the tree and there was a tiny nest, not any bigger than a teacup. He being taller than I could see several tiny little blue eggs. I had to take his word for it and I don't want to bother the little adult bird again. God bless you, Diane

For Thanksgiving?

A while back we threw some apples that had turned soft out along the alley for the deer. I noticed something funny in this lilac tree and on further inspection I see that a squirrel has stashed one of them in a bird nest for "safe keeping?" I wish I could have seen him tugging and pulling that apple up the tree.

God bless you, Diane
