Friends

This was so exciting.  A couple days ago I was at the grocery store and ran into these people and we were all hugging each other.  They are Uta and Berndt from Berlin, Germany and they would stop in and see me at my store once a year when they came over here from Germany.  Berndt is an incredible photographer and they've just finished a book project for a museum in Berlin.  When we closed the store there were several people who I only saw occasionally that I felt so sad that I hadn't had a chance to explain that we were closing or to say goodbye to them.  The store has been closed almost 7 years.  So to see them and get to talk to them again was just wonderful. All I had was my phone but I got this picture.      Diane

Good Day

It was a good day.  I ran into an old friend today.  We haven't seen each other for a long time but we made up for lost time.  We sat on a bench and  just caught up with each other.  What a great feeling!      Diane

Reunion

These two boys grew up together in our neighborhood.  Then a few years ago Drew, the tallest, moved away.  Jacob was our paper boy for a long time until he got too busy.  Occasionally Drew's family returns for visits and this weekend was one of those times.  They spent the entire afternoon playing basketball, sitting on the porch and just renewing their friendship.  It was nice to see two boys who had once been 6 or 7 now highschoolers still being friends.                Diane

Special Girls

It wouldn't be fun to go to the Salvation Army if it wasn't for these two. I always go the day I know they'll be working because it just makes the whole visit an experience. If they weren't there I might find some treasures but it wouldn't feel as good. Diane
