A Different Experience

Today I got a Bountiful Basket to see how the setup
worked.  When I picked ours up it was well worth the $19.50.  Ordinarily
it would have cost me $15.50 but I had to pay a first time $3.00 charge.  The
process was not hard and we ended up with almost a laundry
basket of beautiful fruits and veggies.
We're going to be eating very healthy for a while.
People had told us about it and I had to check it out for myself.  I would
recommend it if you have it in your state.
The pickup wasn't until 6:00 p.m. which seems a little late to me
but that's about the only negative.  Diane

petit pois

Like me, you may have childhood memories of being made to eat peas.  YUK!  I remember having to sit in my chair pushing those awful green things, which seemed to get bigger and bigger, around my plate for hours.  Worse than that they were sometimes mixed with dumplings.  Oh, terrible!

Things have changed though.    Most of us love peas now.

This year my pea plants are sturdy and beautiful.  I haven't been picking very many peas but the ones I do are delicious.  This is one picking, hardly a haul, but wonderful when creamed.  Now maybe I should make some dumplings.................   Diane

Yummy Surprise

While I was at the grocery store today I was hoping to get some ears of corn. No luck. You know how that is, maybe next time. When I got home my husband said that a friend of ours had dropped by with something for us. Corn, cucumbers and lovely big tomatoes sitting on the sink. Better than store bought any day. Some of the corn's gone in this picture because we had it for supper already. Summer's bounty is wonderful!

Nice cool day, I got a lot done, now I can work on my art this evening. Fresh salad tomorrow. Life's good. God bless you, Diane
