Update on Catherine

We had a little Christmas celebration with Catherine and
her husband on Sunday and it was so nice to see them and share
some time together.  She's heading towards the 1/2 way mark of the
radiation treatments and I'm so proud of her, she's working as much as she
can every day and dealing with it as something that needs to be
done and over with.  But I also know that this is one of the
roughest things she's ever been through and it's very hard on her.
I'm thankful that the cancer is no
worse than it is but somehow cancer is cancer in my heart and mind.
I'm proud of my son-in-law, too, for helping her
every step of the way.
Thanks for letting me talk about this, as a mother it's so hard to see your little girl
(and you still are little to me, Cathy), go through anything like this.

Well, thank you for letting me talk about this thing and being good friends.

Blessings, Diane

Gratitude - Surgery's Over

Just to let you know that Cathy (Catherine) is through with the surgery and will be going home tonight.  As far as we know it was successful, she'll know more next week when she has a doctor's appointment.  I'm thankful that it's over and that it sounds good.  I know there will be other treatments after this but this part, at least, is behind us.  Thank you so much for all your prayers and concern.  God is good.

I gave her the book that I made of all of you and your comments and prayers and she was so touched.  I was, too, as I pasted and wrote and put it together.   Again, I'm so thankful.           Diane

Gratitude - Abundance

Gratitude for God's abundant bounty and for my precious blogging
friends.

My husband read an ad in the paper last week which lead us
on an odyssey this morning.  We drove about 33 miles north into Montana in search of
Hutterites selling fresh frozen chickens.
There in the road into a ranch next to a haystack and a pickup
stood a farm stand, manned by grandpa, dad and young son.
It was slightly raining but they had a beautiful stand set up.  Leonard
got 7 frozen chickens.  My purchase was all the things above which included the
largest loaf of bread I have ever seen.
We shall eat like royalty.

Thank you all so very much for your kind notes and comments about Catherine
as she makes this journey into unknown territory.
Your love and prayers are more appreciated than you will ever know.
You are my rocks.        Blessings, Diane

Catherine

This is Catherine, my oldest daughter.  She came to spend some time with me Saturday for Mother's Day and we had some lovely hours together.  She's not only beautiful outside but inside, too.     Diane

Happy Birthday Cathy

Fifty years ago today Catherine Darlene was born to me.  She's grown into a beautiful and wise woman who's a blessing to all who know her.  I couldn't be prouder of her.  I wish her every joy on earth and hope that she has a wonderful birthday.
Here she is with her husband Perry.  Love you, Cathy

Catherine

Tuesday I drove to Billings, Montana to help my oldest daughter, Catherine, celebrate her 48th birthday. I told her to pick someplace where she wanted to go for lunch so she picked an Irish Pub knowing that it would be a big treat for me. Next we went shopping at a couple places, Hobby Lobby and Barnes and Noble not because that would be her choice but she knows I love those places. That's the way she is - she's so unselfish. And she's so happy sharing what you like for her birthday.

After the shopping of her choice we had some birthday cheesecake and coffee at B & N to celebrate and we had her first grandchild as a special guest. It was a lovely day with her.

Catherine is so hard working but yet she seems to have time for her children, her grandchildren, her parents, her in-laws, sports that her children are involved in, school activities and she works for a children's dentist. I have no idea how she finds the time but she has a pretty yard and takes special joy in her flowers in the summertime. Whew!
(Both of these pictures are of Catherine, just a little different look)

Then I headed back home. This is a picture going from Montana to Wyoming. I thought it was a perfect end to the day.

God bless you, Diane
