Things Have Changed.........

Not only the world, but this blog setup.  They (!) have set up different and this is the second time I've tried to post.  So anyway........

Thank you for popping in to see what's happening with me.  Nothing.  And everything.  It's been a very hot summer as you probably know so that changes how you do things.  Hurry and do the outside things in the cool of the morning and then try to figure out what to do with the rest of your day.  Amanda and Gregg both celebrated their 50th birthday and I didn't have anything much to do with the planning, it's the state of mind that makes you feel you're involved.

Then as half the world knows by now I got Leonard's shop and outbuildings cleaned out after 4 1/2 years so I really feel good about that.  I've read a lot of books and reread a couple.  My yard is still a shambles but hopefully there's  next year, God willing.

I know you've been busy, too, with your life.  It's a different world and if you're like me, I hope it isn't going to stay much longer.  I liked the old one much better.

Please take care of yourself and hope you stay happy.                Love, Diane

My Daughter Amanda

Every week Amanda volunteers at an animal shelter in Alaska.  Every week she puts her heart right out there to get broken again and again.  A friend of hers took this photo yesterday -  they're hoping to find a home for this little girl before it's too late.  I tell her I could not do what she does, she tells me that if she can give the creatures some love and special attention she's doing something.  She leaves me with such a lump in my throat because she has so much love to give them .   Diane

Visitor from the North

I've fallen woefully behind in my comments in the last couple days.  Please forgive me but I do have a good excuse.  We have a visitor.  Amanda (Bean) is here from Alaska for a few days.  It's so good to see her, we've been eating lunch in some places where guys (well some guys) don't like to go because they don't serve hamburgers! Today we went to see my mom - her grandma in the nursing home in Buffalo.  I didn't tell Mother she was coming.  She totally surprised and delighted Mother.  We spent the better part of the day there, they had a great visit.  So nice to have her.                              Diane

A Special Day

Amanda Anne was born on this day 40 years ago. Since that day she has always been a constant joy. I don't know where she got her wit and sense of humor or her style or her amazingly beautiful heart. I've seen it again and again - anyone, human or animal, who comes near her feels loved and precious. I think of it as a golden glow which surrounds her. Happy Birthday, Bean, I love you, Mom.
