Did I ever mention that I don't do crowds? Or rudeness?
Last evening we found ourselves at the Farmer's Market. We weren't sure whether we should go when it opened or later when everything was picked over. We found out. We'll go later and take our chances.
Back to the subject. Leonard wanted a peach pie so I told him I'd stand in line and he went back to the car. It was beastly hot in the sun and the line was long. I picked up a pie ($10.00!) and went to the back of the line to wait my turn and pay for it. A big dope of a guy with his belly hanging out from under his t shirt walked up ahead of everybody carrying a pie. "I don't know where the end of the line is." he said, standing at the head of the line. Everybody ahead of me just stood there like sheep but I said "Back behind me." "Well, I'm buying something, that's for people who just want to look". he shot back at me.
Did I ever mention I'm Irish? Now and then it flares up in my blood and this was one of those times - and I'm holding a $10.00 pie. Oh, you can not imagine how hard I had to fight back the temptation to plant in in his big fat face!!!
I didn't. It will always be one of my regrets. Diane

I don't understand his comment? Wierd. I guess, just feel sorry for him. Or waste $10 on a little "pie in the face" therapy. I like the latter option. Love you, Bean
I can see it now,one man with pie on his face and a satisfied Diane going home to make a different dessert.:)
My little voice inside would have had a lot to say also!!!
I didn't know you were so feisty, Diane. You wouldn't believe the people here who cut in line no matter where you are ... kids and adults alike. It takes all my self control not to smack them upside the head. There are some people for whom common courtesy is a foreign concept. I hope you enjoyed the peach pie. Best wishes, Tammy
A little trip, a little slip of the hand and the pie could have been in his face and you could have wailed so that he'd have been forced to buy you a pie.
In my dreams.......
so rude...but I betcha you're really glad you didn't just let go...

Rudeness is so BAD around here... We see it everywhere we go.. Sometimes people just don't think!!!! Glad you didn't confront that man --for he could have followed you to your car or something. One never knows what people will do these days...
Hope the Peach Pie was worth it... Sounds wonderful. Did you buy some ice cream to put on top????? Yum.
Hugs,
Betsy
How tempting that must have been. people can be SO rude. What makes me boil over is if I have answered rudeness with politeness and then they continue to be horrid!
Do you know? I've never had peach pie- I must try to make one.Jane x
Oooooooohhh!!! I wish you had too, but you just don't know what a brute like that might do. Clearly he has no brain. Glad to hear your Irish is still healthy and good.
