An August Day

The little fawns are growing, here's a picture of them on our neighbor's lawn.  One's quite a lot smaller than the other one.  Aren't they beautiful?
Here's one of my lilies, they're always a bright, beautiful splash in the garden when they bloom.  That's the wonderful thing about growing flowers, there's always something to look forward to.
And the chokecherries are ready.  I used to pick them every August and make chokecherry jelly - every year, without fail, it's a tradition where we live.  Anymore, it's too hot to make jelly in August, Leonard doesn't eat it, and I'd much rather leave them for the birds.  Funny how you change, isn't it?   Diane

August is a good month for you all, isn't it Diane???? August here is a month that is usually hot --and people are anxious for Fall to begin. This August so far here though hasn't been too unbearably hot.. Hope that doesn't mean that Sept. will be HOT.... ha ha

Great set of photos.
Hugs,
Betsy

Things are looking very pretty where you are. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone would realize that they really don't need to do everything all the time? I've gotten to where I have become very laid back. Too much chaos in the world to create more stress in your home life, don't you think ???! Have a great day. Tammy

I haven't picked chokecherries for years - but I remember the hot and mosquito-filled afternoons of childhood in the berry patch.
Those fawns are so sweet.

Oh my,these are all such beautiful pictures. My lilies have finished long ago and I miss their color. I used to make chokecherry jelly as well, but the birds get mine before they are even ripe. That's OK,saves me some work.

I leave them for the birds too Diane. We don't eat a lot of jelly or jam here, and it usually got too old before we could use it all up. When all the children were home though, it was a must to can and make jelly. Now I'm just too darn lazy!
I loved reading about Walter Jackson's life!!!!!
