Music,Music, Music
Did you ever think how music takes you back to a certain time of your life? Looking back all the way music is there like a frame that hold your life together. Childhood songs, Christmas songs, songs that remind you of bad times, good times. Tonight I was looking for one thing on Utube and ended up going from one artist to another and each one took me to a specific time in my life. Remember Hootenanny? Remember Glen Campbell and Johnny Hartford, Name that Tune? Then I went on to John Denver, the Eagles, Please Come to Boston.
When I drove to California with my girls in 1977 the main songs on the car radio were Margaritaville, Okie From Muskogee and Lukenbach, Texas. We know the words by heart. Whenever we hear one of those songs - boom, right back to 1977 and being on our way to Disneyland and the beach.
Today I want to listen to the light classics and the old hymns. But I can never turn my back on the rest of them, they helped form who I am today. Diane

That is so true.Just this past Christmas I found that I could not bear to listen to some of what used to be my favourite christmas songs, just too many memories.Yes,they are good memories, but at the time still bring pain.

I'm like you Diane... music simply takes me back to what was going on in my life at the time. I was listening to an old Kasey Kasem's Top 40 Countdown yesterday... what memories!
Music does that for sure, growing up on road trips if my dad chose it was Johnny cash and if my mom was driving Eddie Arnold, yuck!
Luckenback TX ... now that's one I haven't heard in a very long time. Please don't take me back to the 80's. I love all music but that decade just did nothing for me. My husband is still stuck there. Ugh! Hope you are having a great weekend. Best wishes, Tammy
