Yesterday we went over the mountains again. This was what we saw on the very top - snow. The golf ball looking thing on top of the mountain is a NORAD installation, I was in it once some time ago and it's as you would expect, different kinds of equipment and catwalks. NORAD stands for North American Aerospace Defense Command. If you look it up on Wikipedia it explains what it is better than I can.
We cross a long bridge over the Bighorn River and there were many of these white birds together on the river. I believe they're American White Pelicans. Sorry my picture isn't very clear.
This is the mountain road we have to go over to come back home. Yes, the road is propped up on it, and yes, it scares me to death!
And I bought this while we were there. You know once in a while you see something that you know is just for you. You know that if you don't buy it then you will always kick yourself. Well, this was one of those times. I love this. Handmade, sterling silver wires, aqua and opal beads, sea glass and the price was great too. Hope you've been having a good weekend. Diane

What a beautiful piece of jewelry, Diane....and what a beautiful view of the mountain.
NORAD is really something for our two countries to be proud of - it's been going for quiet some time and it is part of what keeps us all secure on this beautiful continent.
Wow---what a drive.... It is so gorgeous!!!! And seeing snow on the top of the mountain is awesome...

Those mountains are breathtaking Diane, and the snow! That road would make me nervous too. I love your necklace, see why you didn't want to go home without it!
Those are gorgeous views! Love the necklace as well.

Yuck to the snow but beautiful photos and necklace!!
Hi Diane, I think I would be afraid of that mountain road, too, but then again, after riding around in India, I really shouldn't be afraid of any kind of road or traffic. HA!
Love that necklace -- and your pretty quilt commemorating 911 -- and your lovely little bookmarks. I'd love to come spend a day with you in the mountains creating and catching up. I'd even go box hunting with you. :)
Best wishes, Tammy
