God Bless America

After September ll I felt compelled to commemorate the event in some way.  At that time I was doing quilting and I turned to my scraps and the first piece I made was the White House.  The little houses came easy, I even put in some little cars with American flags flying behind them, each little house flies Old Glory.  I hurried and got it done in time for the first anniversary.  May God bless our country.     Diane

Gorgeous, Diane. Did you give up quilting??? Why? I love your wall hanging. How appropriate for 9/11... I have seen so many great 9/11 blogs today and seen several great videos... I've been teary most of the day --thinking about all of the people who lost loved ones on this day in 2001.

Thanks for sharing your wall hanging. It's awesome.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a special quilt. I remember the day. This is a wonderful way to honor the memory of those who died and to honor our country as well.

Diane, this is just beautiful!!!! I love it, made me cry just to see it......whenever I see something on the news about 9/11 I still get all teary and feel so sad.....all those people, so many families whose lives will never be the same......it always overwhelms me....
Your quilt is a real inspiration to me, what a truly wonderful keepsake, I wish I could make one and print everyone of those names on it and hang it in the White House!!!

Mags
