This morning as I sat with my coffee working on my journals a ladybug came skittering across my page. What a delight to see the little creature looking so cheerful in her red dotted outfit - I'm not sure I saw one all summer.
The problem is it isn't summer here now. This morning it was about 36 degrees outside.
After considering all the facts - that it was cold, the ladybug wouldn't live in the house with nothing to eat, or she might get stepped on, I decided to put her outside. I placed her gently on the chair on the porch and wished her well, hoping that she would go do whatever ladybugs do. I hope she will be O.K. Diane

It is kind of crazy,I have no problem killing a spider or most bugs, but I cannot to that to a Lady Bug.
Such a charming story. I'll bet you'll be wondering about her for awhile. Perhaps she'll find a little space to snuggle into to wait for Spring.
You are so cute!!! I would do the same, I don't think they do as a pet......ladybug, lady bug fly away home.....your house is on fire and your children are alone......sorry I have sing it when I see a lady bug, I wonder where that poem came from?

How interesting that you found one this time of year :) Best wishes, Tammy
I once spent an hour gathering hundreds of them from the inside of my screened porch to free them to the outside. I love the ladybugs and what they do for the garden. :c)
I don't know what their life cycle is. . . it couldn't be too long. Could it? Poor little thing. xobean
