Today I went to a few garage sales. Some of them were in a wealthy neighborhood and I went because they weren't too far away. They were on the hill, we're down in the valley - two different worlds. Driving through that neighborhood I realized something......I would
not want to live there. I've never been jealous of wealth, maybe sometimes in my life I've thought that it would be nice to have the amenities that wealth has that working people do not. Today, though, I found that there is absolutely nothing that they have that's the least bit interesting to me. I'm so thankful for what I have, the Lord sees that I have everything that's important and I couldn't ask for more. I'm contented - it's good! Diane
Isn't it great to love what we have been given in life? To me, that's the gift. Whether we are of the 'haves' or the 'have nots'.

ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way Diane. I think it is much more important to be happy and comfortable with the simple things of life rather than always striving to have more, more, more! Bigger is not better. And why should you have to work, work, work just to maintain such a lifestyle? I don't get it! If everyone would just take a little piece of the pie, there would be enough to go around. :) Have a beautiful day! Tammy

It's nice to be content. I've learned that no matter how much money you do have, you can always use more. I look at those nice, big houses and think, "Who's going to clean that thing?"

ReplyDeleteI prefer the 'simple' life also, Diane... BUT--I do want to have enough money so that we can continue to travel....
