Nearly every time I go outside the last few days there has been a flock of Canadian Gees headed south. I love the sight of them and the sound of their honking as they make their way across the sky. It makes me wonder how many I
don't see. I don't spend that much time outside these days with the temperature dropping to single digits. Nevertheless, what a thrill to see them.

That is great shot.
There is just something about a V of geese in the sky.One has to stop and look and enjoy.

It's cold way over here tonight too. I'd forgotten how bone-chilling a real winter night can be, and Ottawa can serve up the real thing!
Same here Diane! I love to see the geese overhead, and the honking which is their way of encouraging the rest of the flock to move forward. the picture you captured is beautiful.
I'm stuck in Anchorage for repairs till maybe Tuesday on my parents truck I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
They are sure a lot smarter then the rest of us that stay here and freeze!!!!! The cold wind has been blowing and the temperature has been dropping....why do I live here again? Ha ha......need to find ways to keep warm this winter!!!!
I often wonder, how do they pick the order to fly, how does the leader get chosen? Might have to google that one!!!!
Stay warm Diane!!!

I am always amazed when I see birds in that really aerodynamic formation.
Great shot - love the header too, by the way! Hope that you are keeping well,
Jane
Great capture. I've never been able to catch them in formation.
