Once

Once there were just the two of us.  We weren't always happy but we tried hard.  Then a third joined us, and not a very nice one at that.  The third always wants to have it's own way, to dictate how our lives are going to be, how our marriage and our life will be.  And if we don't cooperate it deals us very harsh blows.  We wipe the tears away and try to get back up and try again.  This third one is very nasty and mean.  It's name is lupus.                            Diane

You've mentioned, from time to time, the illness that curtails your dear one's activities. Anyone who has battled chronic illness will understand the pain behind your words. Two of you together, though, are stronger than one working with this dreadful third.

As with anything, it sort of becomes your "new normal" unfortunately, but that does not mean at times it still does not both sting and stink. Sending hugs your way dear friend.

Diane, it is so hard to deal with cronic pain and illness in ones life. I know of few other things more difficult than lupus. I have a couple of friends who struggle with the disease, and it is a mean one. My prayers are with you both.
I LOVE that picture!!!
hugs to you...
