Above is my old closet. Very tiny. We spent the last two weeks redoing closets. Leonard built a new closet in one of the bedrooms and that's his. So I moved all of his things out of the closet they were in into the new one. THEN I had a new closet. I got it all cleaned out and it still didn't look very good. So I took Leonard's advice and painted it. Then I moved my clothes into that and it's quite lovely - at least for this little house.
I love my new closet. It seems like a tiny boudoir. I asked Leonard if he was surprised
at how few clothes I had. He said " Oh, you have some more somewhere." Really I don't. I just
donate anything that doesn't feel good, I know I'll never wear, or that I'm keeping for a weight
loss. It's a nice feeling to look into your closet and know that everything is comfortable!
(All except for my wedding dress - it fits all of my criteria!)
Diane
Tomorrow I'll tell you what happened to my old closet.
How perfect Diane, and so feminine! So pretty! I'm looking forward to tomorrows post on your old closet!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting a new closet.... Makes you feel like you have a new home, doesn't it????? We have two closets (both fairly large) in this home --one in each bedroom. One is a winter closet and one a summer one... We use one of the two closets --and the other is for storage. SO---I switch out the clothes depending upon the seasons... Right now, I still have our summer clothes in the bedroom closet we use... BUT--once it gets cold, I'll switch the summer stuff to the other closet and get the winter stuff in our closet.... We neither one have many clothes anymore --now that we don't work outside the home. We just wear short or sweats most of the time.....
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Diane..... I know you love your new closet.
Hugs
Betsy
I purge mine of things I've not touched in a year. Like you Diane, I am NOT a clothes horse at all. I have shirts I've literally worn for 10 years! Most of my closet is work scrubs...lol! Love your new closet and how roomy it is. :c)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great feeling to have SPACE isn't it. I remeber last winter when I gained a little closet room,
ReplyDeleteIt wasd glorious I can't wait to see your old closet!
Hi Diane, I love your boudoir, complete with a lovely dresser and even a mirror. I got a larger closet with my new apartment, but I'm afraid it still seems almost too small. Yours is very interesting and I am inspired to go tweak mine around a bit. See you tomorrow...love, Mudderbear/Rosalie
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, Diane! You have made a sweet boudoir - no mansion could have a prettier dressing room. I watch some of the 'house' shows and am always surprised at how ugly some of the gigantic dressing rooms are. Yours is perfect - and so is your attitude towards clothing. I'll have to take a page from your book!
