Hollyhocks

Some hollyhocks came in the mail the other day from Deena - Can I Be Pretty in Pink.  I love the idea that I have seeds from a friend planted in my garden.  In thinking about this it occurred to me that when we moved here in 1987 the chicken yard along the alley was full of all colors of them.  Gradually with my husband's projects, this and that, it got down to one hollyhock and I guarded it carefully only to have somebody destroy it!  Now with Deena's sweet idea I'm going to try to bring them back to my yard.  They're such a sweet, dear flower.                              Diane

We always had hollyhocks outside the back door in moms little flower garden. The different colors were always so pretty, and remind me of an old English or cottage garden. Enjoy!

I haven't had hollyhocks for years. I should get some seed and get them started for next year. They are so pretty by a back door.

I love them Diane. Hollyhocks say cottage garden...no, they scream cottage garden! Something is eating on mine this year, but they will bloom very soon.
