Several years ago we had to have our beautiful old flowering crab cut down before it fell down. I tend to get attached to things and felt so terrible about cutting down the tree. Today I took a picture of the sweet little pansy that decided to come up all by itself in a tiny little crack in the stump. It gives my heart joy - it's almost like the old tree is smiling at me. Gift
