Remembering Alaska...........

I've made two trips to Alaska to visit Amanda and Gregg.  On this visit they took me to Halibut bay which is a ways across Kachemak Bay from Homer.  We had surprise reservations (to me) on one of the two boats which make the trip.  This one is an old mail boat, Stormbird which I think is a very reassuring name.

Going across there were two giant rocks which were home to many different species of birds including Puffins and Penguins just to name a few.   On one of my previous posts I named more of them. This was an honor to see these.

Lunch was waiting for us at Halibut Bay.  It's a unique place with buildings of every color along a boardwalk approached only by boat.  Magical!!

Back on shore I was able to spend time(not enough) with Amanda's friends and see their homes.  Above is Ellen  who lives alongside a lake and has a beautiful log home and 2 wonderful dogs.

Me, Amanda and Gregg after a flight in their 185 Skywagon.   He LOVES to fly so I can go up with him anytime as long as the weather is good.  Amanda is learning to fly now, too.

Thank you for letting me reminisce.  I know you've seen some of these pictures before but thanks for bearing with me.         Alaska is a magical place and these two treat me like a queen.  It's wonderful.    Diane

Looks like such a wonderful, unspoiled area of the States. I know everyone who has visited there has found its landscape and natural beauty to be magical.
