This is the time of the year I long to traipse around the mountains, smell the fresh air, drive down the mountain roads with a mountain bluebird leading the way. Everything tastes wonderful, I feel free, grounded. It takes me back to the very first time I was there which I really don't remember, I was quite small. But I remember the shafts of sun shining through the lodge pole pines, the intoxicating smell of pine and sagebrush, the sea of blue lupine and yellow "sunflowers" which I figured out much later were bitter root. The endless mountain roads where our dad looked for a place to escape civilization.
Since the snow doesn't go off until June, June and the mountains just naturally go together. Welcome June. Diane

You are lucky that where you live, June is still a fairly cool month. Here in SoCal we have what we call "June Gloom" in the morning, but by mid-day, we are in the 90's. Our mountain trails that were surrounded by greenery are now starting to turn brown and most of our wildflowers are gone. I guess the fact that you have snow that does not melt off until June that your greenery and wildflowers last longer. Your flower photos are lovely.
Enjoy each precious moment of June.I love the header picture.
Your header photo is glorious! I can see why you love June in your part of the year - it's the true arrival of spring.
Good morning Diane - I hope you enjoy your June. I love the WY flowers @ the top of your blog. Take care - weekend is almost here!
I'm Downtown
How lovely. Unfortunately, it's hot as heck here so not a lot of outdoor activity going on.
I love June as well. My irises are a deep purple but they finished this weekend.
Short beautiful lives. Given from a neighbors yard a few years back, they are a sweet reminder of friendship.
THis years showing is their best.
