chinook...........

Chinook.............that word always brightens my heart.  For one thing it's a Native American word meaning a warm dry wind that blows down the east side of the Rocky Mountains at the end of the winter - or in the middle of winter as it has done before.  A strong, warm wind turns the heavy snow buildup to slop and water runs everywhere.  Soon it's dry.  It's a beautiful lull in the middle of winter.

We've been having one for the last few days.  Temperatures running nearly in the 60's.  Normally I can't walk Rascal along the creek bank and I take him to a park where it's dry.  I love it - no over boots, just a jacket, peace for a while.            Have a wonderful day.      Diane

While you are enjoying a chinook,we are more or less still waiting for winter to arrive. It has been unusually mild till now.

That seems to be the case in many areas. No doubt winter is waiting just around the corner.

Our warmish weather is gone and is replaced with a foot of snow! I am loving it. I just love a Christmas with lots of snow. I hope your holiday is going along all right. Hugs, Kit
