Treasures

Deliciousness from the north.

Do you ever have something that's so special that you only allow yourself to savor it in little bites?

Both of these came from Alaska - the Kenai Peninsula.  The crowberries were gathered by Amanda, her husband and 4 others.  They had to go by boat to an island where these can be found and gathered lots. It took the entire day.  Then the girls got together to make jelly.  I really think it tastes so wonderful because of the wonderful day they had gathering the berries and all that went into it.  We received the jar for Christmas and it's just elegant, no slathering it all over the waffles, just a little on our toast - occasionally!  Thanks Bean and all.

The honey is also from Alaska and it has lovely floral tones.  This was Ellen's very first year for her bees and the jars were sparing I'm sure. This honey is a very special treat - liquid gold. Thank you Ellen

It sounds so yummy Diane. I think you are probably right too about the joy of the 'gatherers' having something to do with the taste.
I had so many problems with blogging for two weeks that I didn't even try to visit or post. It was just so frustrating. I have used Chrome for a while now and I was still having problems with everyone's blogs. I just quit trying and then decided to try again today and things have been much better. It makes me wonder if it was me or 'them' : )
