Flowers

This sunflower broke off of the sunflower tree so it's in a pretty vase on the patio.

Summer is drawing to a close, the flowers are tired of the heat, of the battle.  I bet they look forward to when they can rest.  The dryness is incredible - people are tired of hoping for rain, depressed, will our earth ever be the same?  We don't know - maybe not.

But for right now I have the sunflowers.                               Diane

And they're beautiful Diane. Yes, things will be good again, rain will come, and things will the heat will subside, and we'll all breathe a sigh of relief. Hang in there!

As always I love your photographs Diane, thank you. I am so lucky, at the moment, September in England is at its most perfect weatherwise, clear blue skies,a litle rain at night, during the day- sunshine and such a clarity of light. I wish I could have you here for a little refreshment! Jane xx

They are as beautiful in a vase as on the plant.

It has been so dry this year. I want a good downpour, and then I want to go out and run in it! We have had plenty of water this year here in Carey, but those places not under irrigation are dry and there have been many fires around us. The whole month of August was so smokey that it really made your eyes feel tired. The skies are pretty clear today, but the wind is awful. I hope nobody lights a match!
Sending hugs...
