Bighorns

It never fails to terrify me.  This curve as we travel up Red Grade road to the mountains.  The road's built on the side of the mountain - we climb higher and higher at a rapid rate and this curve makes a 90 degree turn and it seems like you're going out over the edge.  It's been improved somewhat, it used to be loose gravel, but it doesn't help my heart - it's still terrifying.
Another shot from inside (I'm trying to distract myself at this point!)
Once we get on top it's worth it.  We meander around the lower elevations of the Cloud Peak Wilderness area.
Only occasionally do we then have a glimpse here and there of where we have been less than an hour ago.
The wildflowers were beautiful.  It was a good day.  It was worth the terror.              Diane

I too would be terrified, but oh the view from the top, wow.Every time you mention the Big Horns I am taken back to my first ever vacation. The first time I laid eyes on mountains,it was the Big Horns. Lovely memories.

You would have flipped if you had been with us last year in Nepal taking the same sort of mountain roads during monsoon season with landslides, mudslides and buses going over into rivers that were breaking their banks and flowing over roadways. I just sat in the backseat of the van and crocheted all my terror away. Ha! Great view! Have a beautiful day. Tammy

Beautiful scenery, especially the last photo with the wildflowers.

Oh how gorgeous! That road reminds me of the Going to the Sun road, so scary but soooo worth it. Look at all those wildflowers! Kit
