The Trucks Came Today.......

So many times I've posted pictures of the very special place I like to walk -
along Big Goose creek.

In all seasons it's beautiful.

Today the city showed up to clear and trim and cut.  When I walked by they were
eyeing the big tree on the left hand side.  For 25 years they've paid no attention
to the creek.  When somebody gouged a ditch along it I
had to beg them to come down with a load
of soil and fill it in.  Last summer a hole developed alongside of the
bridge big enough for a child or adult could disappear into.
I called them several times and they finally came down and
put a little fence around it.

So here's part of the "beautification".
Where will the ducks and turkeys and pheasants find
cover now?  Where will creatures find shade?
Where is the old apple tree?
Why are they doing this?

It is sad to see those old trees taken down.

How sad, Diane. I know what you mean, the utility company came through our property and literally did a hack job on our beautiful trees. They destroyed so much habitat that will take many years to rebound.

Hi Diane, I hate to see trees trimmed and removed... I know that sometimes they have to do it---but I still don't like it...

Great pictures by your creek.
Hugs,
Betsy

I truly don't understand why they do half of what they do and don't get me started on fish and game up here....

There's not understanding it. I'm always horrified to see a big old tree come down for no discernible reason.

Oh I so understand your pain! We have a park in town and our city has been taking out a lot of the trees to get it back to it's "natural" state. What??? Drives me crazy and makes me want to cry. Kit
