Sentiment and the Peanut Man

If you took away the sentiment I don't think I'd have any Christmas decorations left.  Everything means something.  This snowflake with the jewel in the middle was made by Mother probably 18 years ago.  It has a tiny music box inside and it still works.  When I press the center it plays a medly of Christmas songs.  Rascal hears the tiny sound and lifts his nose and "whisper howls".  He howls very, very quietly.  The crocheted snowflake laying on the branch is one of a dozen that Catherine made for me long ago, too.
The peanut man was made for me by my granddaughter Lindsay when she was small.

I know your ornaments and decorations are sentimental, too.  That's what makes our Christmas trees so special, bringing back all those sweet memories every year.                   Diane

Diane, I love to take a walk down memory lane with the ornaments my kids made at a young age as they are all grown men now...I especially love to look at the ones my mother made a few years back when she was in the nursing home with Alzeheimers. They very much resemble the ones the kids made..I treasure them all...Debbie (Maine)

Our decorations are all sentimental too, Diane. The best kind!
I liked seeing the photo of you in your header, and the one of you behind the Peanut Man. You have a great smile!

I have one made by my niece when she was in kindergarten. It's always toward the top of the tree, it's just so special as she made it clear she wanted me to have it. She's 30 now, and that ornament is still just as special as it was the day she gave it to me. I lost many of my special ornaments, especially those made for me by my son, in a theft. But yes, ornaments from the heart are the best.

I agree, Diane. All of my ornaments are definitely sentimental to me... That is the JOY of Christmas---all of the memories..

Love your peanut man!!!! All of the pictures are GREAT... The header is wonderful --and I love that photo of you with the pink Poinsettia.

Hugs,
Betsy

I do agree Diane. I don't think of myself as sentimental but when this squishy, battered old robin Christmas decoration came out of the box, I found myself giving him a kiss in delight...! Jane x
