Holding On

Golden coins dangling in the sunlight.  The last of the fall leaves clinging to the dark branches of the trees along the creek.  Winter is bearing down on us and the sight of the leaves holding on for dear life seems to be the same as us holding on to the last of the pleasant days in the final moments before the weather gets seriously cold.  Each day without cold is a gift.

I remember one year - probably around 1984 - when it turned -30 degrees on Thanksgiving and stayed that way until Christmas Eve when it finally warmed up to -10 degrees. I don't want to see another month like that.

Hope you had a good day where you live.

Update:  Cathy will begin radiation treatment next week, she doesn't have to have chemo.  The doctor told her that she had the best diagnosis that it could have been.  She thinks it will all be behind her by Christmas.  Thank you, dear friends,  for your prayers.  Prayer works.           Diane

I'm so happy to hear the report from Cathy's doctors. I'll keep praying for her during these treatments.
I'm happy I don't live in your cold state either. Listen to me...it was only a couple of months ago that I was whining about the heat here. I guess we can't all live in San Diego where it's pretty near perfect all the time!!

I certainly hope it's all done by Christmas. That would be wonderful. It sounds scary, nonetheless. I hope you can hold up through all this too. I'll keep praying 'til it gets all done.

The photo is beautiful. Love the blue patches on the ground and that the leaves are so shiny. You really take good pictures.

Same here Diane! This morning it's so cold, and the last of my late blooming roses finally bowed down to the heavy frost we had over night. Winter's on it's way.

We actually have cooler temps here. Since we are used to such extreme heat, the 60's feels like winter around here. Sure hope I can wear a decent shoe by the time school starts back up on Sunday. Have been resting the ankle as much as I can today. Glad to hear that Cathy's treatment will not be a long ordeal. Sending prayers and blessings and hugs, Tammy

Great news about Cathy, Diane... I know you are a happy camper now. God Bless her.

Those leaves are hanging on, aren't they???? I looked out front today and saw ONE leaf still hanging onto our Redbud tree...

Cannot imagine -30 degrees. I'm freezing here today and it was only in the +20's.
Hugs,
Betsy
