The South Forty

 That's what I call it - this picture is taken from the creek bank.  Just beyond the center of the picture is a small grove of trees, lovingly planted by my old neighbor, Ben, and his wife.  He's gone now but the south forty is a haven for deer, rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, and other wildlife.  I'm so blessed to have this sweet place so close to our home - it's only about 1/2 block or right down the alley.   
This is one of the fawns there last evening.

Love your South Forty, Diane.... My father-in-law used to call his big back yard, the "Back Forty".... SO--your post reminded me of that sweet man and how much he loved his yard.

I looked up your house on google earth (street view) too cool. But, I didn't see the deer or the turkeys :( xobean
