Time

This morning it was chilly and very heavy with dew, I looked to see if there was frost.  Time's hurtling forward towards fall and winter, it's in the air.  The kids are going back to school, school buses driving through the neighborhood.  I saw my first flight of blackbirds gathering.  The plants are tired of fighting the summer heat, grass is dry everywhere people don't water.  It's hard to imagine anything but this, slow summer days yet, fans on, wearing shorts, preparing suppers that don't require the stove being on.  It will change though, soon enough.  Time just keeps going on.  Diane

It does indeed keep moving on. You've described the mornings here too, but our afternoons are still heavenly.

I love this time of year, the transition from summer to fall. The days are warm, the mornings and dusk just perfect for walks and sitting on the swing. Beautiful post Diane.

Your poetic verse is a lovely description of these days. It's hard to believe today is September 1st and there are back to school sales all around. I forgot all about that part of life.
