Pet Peeve

(image is from Internet)
Do you have a pet peeve
Really, I do think this is a little thing, with everything else that's going
on in the world right now.  I shouldn't even let small things
bother me - and I don't.  I just thought this would make a good post.

When I tell someone thank you and they say "no problem!"  That's irritating.  I feel
like maybe I really had put them out or bothered them.
What would be wrong with saying "you're welcome"?
It almost makes me feel like I shouldn't have said thank you.
What do you think about this?
What's your pet peeve or do you have any?
Diane

Most of my pet peeves revile around driving and the lack of obeying simple traffic rules.I guess this comes because I am on the road a lot and have seen about every stupid thing a driver can do.

That grates on me too. I don't think they realize how it sounds...and don't mean it that way. I guess it's just one of those things us old foggies have to put up with, huh?

Well---there are many pet peeves I'm sure for all of us... And like you say, they don't make much difference in the big scheme of things in life. One of mine is rudeness or lack of manners....

Hugs,
Betsy

I think you found a match for the grumpy little bluebird who has been so popular lately.
I fear if I start thinking of what irritates me I might get rather grumpy, myself. One thing though, is this misuse of the word I. 'I' is not the object who receives. You don't do something for he and I, for example. Who was it who got this horrible misuse going? GRRRRRR!!!!!!

:) Diane, we share a pet peeve! Up here the answer to 'thank you' is often 'no worries'. Why????

Totally!!!!! That happens to be one of my MANY! Now the new saying is "No worries". Which is just a sweeter way of saying "No problem." Wouldn't you think in this economy - with retail sales being what they are that people would gladly say "THANK YOU - for taking time out of your day, choosing our store, and spending money with us!" Oiy, I could go on and on and on. I'm turning into an old bag. :(

But, something about your complaint makes me feel justified in feeling the same.

Love you!!! Bean

My pet peeves are folks who still continue to litter when they should be educated enough to be able to find the nearest trashcan and take care of their own garbage. In this country, folks still roll down their windows and throw anything and everything out! They think because they pay street workers to clean up after them, that they don't have to do it themselves. It is pathetic to me that someone can drive a car that costs $30,000 and still throw garbage out the window. Sick!

People who don't know how to drive and are on the roads also annoy me. there's no drivers training in this country. So although I am still following the rules I learned at the age of 15 in driver's ed, they are all out their willy nilly on the road and think they know what they are doing and I am wrong. All because they never learned the right way to drive and certainly know nothing about common courtesy or road rules.

When someone thanks me at school for something I've done, if I have a close relationship with them, I always say No problemo with a smile! I probably wouldn't say it to just anyone, but don't think anything is wrong with it if you are saying it to someone close. Besides, no problem means just that, it wasn't a problem and was my pleasure to do it. Maybe it depends on the tone of voice when being said. :)

Have a great day. Tammy

I am guilty of saying "no problem" when someone thanks me for a tiny act of kindness and the reason I say it is to let the person know I was happy to do it so they didn't feel like they imposed on me.
What really bothers me is when someone thanks you several times for one thing. Once is plenty.
I do know it doesn't sound polite and wasn't how I was raised however I think any acknowledgement is better than none????
Smiles,
Pat

I think we need to start teaching manners back in schools again so maybe the next batch out will be better in this dept.

OMG, my pet peeve is when I am trying to express what I am feeling, and someone says to me, "you shouldn"t feel that way." Really, how should I feel and why did they bother to ask me in the first place? annoying...Debbie (Maine)
