My BIG Project

It's been rolling around in my head for a long time.  I want to take the doors off of these cabinets and paint them white.
Our house is 100 years old and the last time these cabinets were painted had to be in the 40s.  I can tell that by the paint color.  I loved it for the first 15 years we were here but now I don't.  They're impossible to clean anymore, even when they're scrubbed they look dirty.  I always liked the idea of open shelving with things stacked neatly.

The biggest part of the hard work is behind me - I convinced my husband!!!!  Now everything else will be downhill.  I can't wait to do it.  I'll keep you posted.                          Diane

Woohoo! It's so funny that most men hem and haw at the idea of open shelving but it looks really great! What a wonderful transformation it will be. I have an old hutch in the kitchen that my hubby had made for me one summer. It used to have glass doors but I took them off months ago. I had been thinking about it and when one of the doors fell off in my hand, thankfully not crashing to the floor, I told hubby to get rid of the glass. He put a dark stain on it and I am thinking to paint it white. Just haven't gotten to any of the projects I had planned for this summer. Good luck with the painting. Best wishes, Tammy

It's a big job! But it will be so nice to have a fresh kitchen, in a color that you like.

We're on the same wave length Diane, I was just telling Ken I want to paint the kitchen cupboards white, and redo the walls also, though not sure what color there. I love your kitchen!

Oh, that is so exciting. It will be so much fun. I love the outside of the doors with the flowered paper. Hope you keep us posted with how everything is going. They look so nice already, I thought you were going to show us what you had finished.
