Hollyhocks and Rest

Just about the time I start feeling sad because the peonies won't be back for another year along comes the happy hollyhocks.  They're sprinkled all around the neighborhood in almost every color of the rainbow.  I have two of them behind the gate on the alley.  The little fawns have been nibbling on them but they're determined to bloom!  How can you not like such an optimistic happy flower?
Look what came in the mail today - from my own potter!  A new spoon rest.  All snuggled down in a Vosges truffle box tied with matching tulle this little sweetie came all the way from Alaska.  I had chipped mine and she made me another one.  I love the old typewriter letters impressed in the middle of it.  Thanks Bean!!!       Diane

Hey Diane...I'm trying to figure how I've missed so many posts. Have you been extra busy here lately? They are all especially beautiful. I love the skies and the soft yellow flowers in your yard...the last one. Are they daisies or mums,or..? Shows you all that I don't know. Also love the cotton snow...that's a lot of cotton.I really enjoy your pictures. Hope you have a great week.
