Lookout Tower

There must be something wonderful about sitting on top of our chimney.  It's nearly always occupied, either by doves, woodpeckers or like today - this robin.  It was sitting up there just telling all the other birds that this was his throne.

Occasionally a woodpecker will peck on it.  The first time I hear that  I thought the  furnace was having some kind of terrible breakdown.  Then it got quiet.  Then it started again.  Finally I decided that it wasn't the furnace, it was a woodpecker.  I'm glad they like it, I think this property really belongs to them anyway - we're just caretakers.                         Diane

I think I saw some songbirds in the garden today. Whoo hoo! I don't think they will be perching on our chimney however. Not with our fire blazing anyway. LOL! It was only 35 degrees here today.

Ha ha, I love this photo, what a joy to see these beautiful birds out and knowing that means Spring is coming! Thank you for your words of comfort, I know I should be trying to think of positive things and not dwell on my sister's death but every year around this time it gets so hard......probably has a lot to do with the whole long winter blues too.....but I am truly blessed with such wonderful friends!!!
Did you get brave enough to check out the video....I haven't yet but maybe I will sneak a look!!
Hugs,
Mags

Hi Diane, yes, we should all be caretakers, but some people only care to take. :/ I've tried to catch some of our birds perching but my little camera just doesn't zoom that far. Have a beautiful day. Tammy (tsdailytreasures)

It's time for us to put out the hummingbird feeders. The air is still chilly, but the birds are starting to come back.

That is such a cute story about the woodpecker. He had you going there for awhile, eh?
