Pinecones and Roses

Invasion

Yesterday the cedar waxwings came, and came, and came.  I never saw so many birds at one time.  Every tree in our area wall full of them.  As I stood in our driveway they flew around me, over me, right by my head.  The air was alive with their excited voices and the fluff of their wings.  I did get a video but not the one I wanted.  They clung to our old pine tree and they were as thick on it as pine cones, they hung upside down and scrambled for a seat.  I really wondered if the tree might tip over from their weight.  I thought I was getting that on the camera but I messed up and didn't get it.  But it's in my memory.  I'm so glad I was there for the show. .       Diane

What a good shot that is, Diane - they look like decorations on the tree.
I heard that somewhere in the US thousands of blackbirds have just fallen out of the sky - I believe it was in Arkansas. Very strange!

Wow Diane... That's alot of birds in one place... I love the Cedar Waxwings --and remember the first time I saw them. We were looking for a waterfall --and I saw a bunch in a tree. I was so excited --even moreso than the waterfall... ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

When they all swoop and soar together it always amazes me that they are in such unison. xobean
