Come On Along With Us

Rascal and I are going for a walk like we do every day.  Why don't you grab your coat (a warm one) and maybe your snow boots.  All we do is walk around the block and along the creek but there's lots to see.  In the picture above there's the tiniest little nest.  I didn't edit the picture because I was trying to show how little it is.
A crow is following us, scolding us from the treetops,  maybe he thinks Rascal is going to find something good to eat and he'll miss it.
Look there's a couple of the turkeys.  The one in the lead is lame.  The one behind seems to be watching out for her.  I had seen the lame one about a week ago and I was concerned for her safety.  It does my heart good to see that she has a friend.  Girls have to stick together.

I think this is a burl but I'm not sure.  It might be just some kind of growth or even a nest in the cedar tree.
The creek seems like it's completely frozen over but if we stop and listen we can hear gurgling.  There must be some spots that aren't frozen.
Look! There's a Flicker.  Yesterday I saw a Downy Woodpecker.  Lots of life out here for such cold weather.
Well, we're almost back home.  I hope you enjoyed our walk.  We loved having you along.  Diane

Thanks Diane for taking me on your walk with you... I'm so glad I got some exercise today.. WELL---I did go shopping and walked about a mile or so around Walmart and two other stores... SO--I did get a little exercise.

That does look like a burl.... Neat picture of the Flicker... Glad you saw a Downy also...

Thanks for the walk... Love that BLUE sky..
Hugs,
Betsy

Thanks for letting me tag along! I do love a good adventure (like this one)! I think the bird was actually scolding me not Rascal...knowing how I wouldn't hesitate to grab a good morsel left laying around! Walking through the woods will do that to you! Speaking of which, I'm a bit hungry after our walk....got any warm milk???

Purrs!

Thanks for the virtual walk Diane. Such lovely things to see along the way. I haven't walked since Zack and I had our outing on Sunday. The last 4 days at school have been so busy that I have brain overload by the time I get home. We are probably 8 or 9 hours ahead of you in time. It's only 5:30 pm right now and I am already yawning like crazy. Will certainly be in bed early again tonite. happy day to you. Tammy
