On The Street Where We Live

We live in an older part of town and a lot of the city street repair money goes to the wealthier parts first.  If you'll notice we have potholes and the street does need repairs.  But I just hold my breath and hope that they forget about us.  The reason is the trees.  We have so many trees and they're so beautiful.  All the trees have been cut down on the streets that they've redone.  Saplings have been planted, there are perfect curbs and gutters and sidewalks they look artificial to me.  I'll take our own street and hope it will be a long time before they do ours.

Oh Diane, I hope they just leave your street alone...I would hate to see them cut down those gorgeous trees... How horrible!!!!!

Beautiful picture.

I don't blame you Diane, the trees are so pretty, it would be a shame to see them cut down. If they could just fill in the potholes and leave the trees alone, that would be great.

What a beautiful street you live in, I would hope that the town powers-that-be wouldn't notice my street either if it means that they would remove trees are wonderful as these.

I hope the trees are left. What a shame it is when such beauty is lost for the sake of speed or convenience.

Now THAT is a walking sidewalk... so pretty with all the trees lining it. Indeed, it would be a shame to cut them all back.

I would rather have the potholes and keep the trees. It is such a shame when trees the size of these are cut down.I love your street,it is beautiful,in part, because you live there.

What a lovely area! Gorgeous trees. I sure wouldn't want them cut down either. I still hate that I look out our bedroom sliding glass doors and see nothing but blah when we used to see green treetops. They cut four large trees last year and I just couldn't believe it. Left everything feeling so barren. Ugh! Hope you are having a great weekend. :) Tammy

Diane, views like this stir my heart. I spent my earliest years on a street much like this. I always feel nostalgic whenever I travel down down them. It's like getting to know the little girl in me again. The one that seems like a lifetime away.
You live beautifully, you know.
