Killing Frost Last Night

"Last night, there came  frost which has done great damage to my garden.....
It is sad that Nature will play such tricks on us poor mortals, inviting us with sunny smiles to confide in her, and then, when we are entirely within her power, striking us to the heart." - Nathaniel Hawthorne,

It's so hard to see, isn't it? It's the final notice that there's no turning back to good weather and gardens. Time to start bringing the wood up onto the porch!

Oh I'm so sorry, Diane.... Your Morning Glories were so pretty this year.... Now you'll just have to wait 'til next year to enjoy them again... Winter is coming--whether we want it to, or not..... SO SORRY.... Makes me sad.... Tis life though..
Hugs,
Betsy

We have yet to have a first frost, which is unusual for us. So sorry about your Morning Glories - I enjoyed your pictures of them this year. But, as Betsy said, they will be back!

Well.... poo. It's like we always know it's coming, and yet when it does, it's rather sad. But, if it didn't come and allow the plants to rest up, they wouldn't be nearly as pretty come spring? :c)

Hey Diane, you are having a frost over there and this is the time of year for us when we can finally get some planting done. We headed to the nursery today and I spent a couple of hours on both balconies, repotting and cleaning. I am so happy when I can have loads of plants around me, especially lovely flowering ones too. I'm sure things will warm up for you again before winter really sets in. Have a great weekend. :) Tammy
