Almost Forgotten

These marbles were left over from when we had the store.  Leonard was getting them together for someone and he asked me if I'd take a picture of them.  She said you can't find marbles anymore.  Do you remember marbles?  I bet some of you even played marbles.     Diane

I don't think kids would know what to do with them anymore, which is really sad. The only exercise their hands get any more are playing with video games. We used to hoard marbles when we were kids, boulders, cat eyes, aggies, all were valuable to us, and marble tournaments were a blast! We had several different games we'd play, us kids and the neighbors played all the time. Learning to hold the marble just right for shooting was a talent! Ah when life was so much more simpler!

Oh yes, I remember marbles. Every spring we'd be crazy for marbles. When my two were in elementary school marbles were popular again and I was forever stepping on them!

Love marbles, yes why can't you find them anymore....do kids not play with them now a days?
Look at the big one, do you remember what hey called?
Gosh my memory is not working these days.....
They look so lovely in the jar, with the light reflecting on them.

I never played with marbles unless they were a part of a game set, but this picture looks really great. Many memories in that jar!

I never played marbles, but I did play jacks. Boy, kids today wouldn't have a clue. So sad.

This too funny we were in a little store in Homer yesterday and they had boxes of reproduction marbles.
What I love is they look so pretty almost like candy!! I love your beautiful jar.

Oh yes----I played Marbles --and my brothers did, and even my sons. These days, kids wouldn't know what to do with them would they???? Kinda sad I think.

Great picture of all of your marbles. I would have loved to have seen your store at one time... Bet you had tons of treasures in there...Did you sell it --and is it still operating???

Hugs,
Betsy
