Mountain Bluebirds

I remember when we would drive down an old dirt road in the mountains bluebirds would fly ahead of us.
They would then stop on a fence post as though they were waiting for us to catch up with them and then as
we got near to them they'd take off and fly ahead of us and repeat the same pattern.
I always thought they were so happy to have visitors that they were escorting us down the road.  Last week when we went to the mountains I was so pleased to find that they've installed nesting boxes occasionally down the fence line along the road.  They seemed to perch near or on top of the boxes...........

...or in a pipe next to one.      Diane

Love those little boxes for the birds. So nice that someone thinks to care for our feathered friends. My poor street cats just want someone to love and care for them. I have three that have taken residence outside my door. Poor things! I wish I could bring them in. Best wishes to you for the week ahead. :) Tammy

Oh sure, use it. I got their website from someone else's blog too. I just love them...wish they had more quotes.

We certainly enjoy the bluebirds using our nesting box and visiting our feeders. They are always a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for stopping by my site.

Once I watched a flash of blue fly from tree to tree on my street. It was probably a bluejay. That streak of color was just awesome. It's the only time I've seen anything like it. You are so blessed.

I'd be hoping to see a flash of that beautiful blue too! Up here we have the Stellar Jay - it's our provincial bird - pretty, but not that brilliant blue.
