Mother's Day

Next week Mother will be 88. She's living the best life possible in a nursing home with a view of the Bighorn Mountains and bird feeder outside her window.

There was a time a long time ago that she was a hopeful, beautiful girl with hopes and dreams who adored big hats and green shoes.

She gave birth to my two sisters and I as well as my brother. She carries the pain of the loss of my sister quietly. She knows us inside out. What she doesn't like she usually doesn't say anything about. What she does like she sometimes does. Her world gets smaller. Her mind might be getting slightly rusty but she still can figure things out - usually ahead of others. And I think if you asked her, she still likes hats and green shoes.

My mother will always be the center of my existence.
Happy Mother's Day to each of you whether you're the mother of human children or animal children or both. Diane

I don't think that anyone could say more about the mother-daughter relationship, Diane - or say it better.
That's a very sweet photo of your mother. She looks like she's dressed for a June wedding - bride or bridesmaid. Even though it's black and white I can imagine the colours all around her.
Happy Mothers' Day to you too!

Count your blessings to still have your Mother around.I lost mine to cancer at the age of 54,that is much younger than I am now.I enjoyed reading about your Mom,and smiled as you described her.I hope you will have a lovely Mother's Day.
