Getting There

I'm not going to go through the details but I had one hard time working with Rascal, when he was a puppy. Housebreaking was one of the hard things. When I could not think of anything else I put a little diaper on him, I used old wash cloths and fastened them just like a baby. He didn't like to have them wet. He found out that I would take them off when we went outside to go potty and he had to wear them in the house. It didn't take long and he got the point. That was just one aspect of life when he was a little guy.

One thing I found about him is that he's very headstrong. He has to think it's his idea. (Talk about having to use your brain!)

Today I'm so proud of him. He lifts his leg. That's right. When I put his harness on him to go for a walk he has to put one of his front legs through it and then I fasten it on his back. Now when I say "OK, now your leg" he lifts up his front leg and puts it through the harness - by himself. I could just cry, it's such a big accomplishment for both of us. Diane

Just like a baby..... You have to train them to do what they need to do!!!!! You are doing well, Diane, and Rascal is ALSO....

That is so funny Diane. I do believe that is one smart puppy.
I love your sketch of the kitty among the pots. I bet the owners loved it. I love it when you share your art with us. I imagine you have a lot of great sketches I would love to see.
Have a wonderful Easter...

What a sweet baby Rascal is. I love your cat drawing. Jingles is always climbing into pots around here. What is it about the dirt they love? Sending many Easter blessings your way. :) Tammy PS The crocheted flowers are not from a pattern and I am probably doing them all wrong. My cousin taught me to crochet them when I was aboug 19 or 20, along with leaves and squares to make an afghan. I haven't done it in so long, sometimes I think I've forgotten the pattern. I just play with crocheting. I am loving my new glue gun though. So much fun to glue everything and know it will stay for quite some time. Have a great day!

So sweet! My Renoir is quite headstrong too...it is so wonderful when they learn these little things isn't it? I still smile everytime Renoir lifts his paws to go in his harness...

A very smart rascal, indeed! Isn't it amazing to see what they're capable off. Now Rosie - well, she hasn't had to extend herself very much. We say that she's a 'dog of little brain and large heart' - and we love her!
