The Joy of Cats

This is an old sketch I made in 1996. I was shopping for plants and the resident greenhouse cat was taking a little snooze. I sketched this and then painted it and gave the painting to the owners. I'm sorry it's a little smudgy.

Even though I don't have a cat right now I still love them. I've written down a couple of my favorite cat quotes.

"Cats can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause the most inconvenience." Pam Brown

"Cats have intercepted my footsteps at the ankle for so long that my gait, both at home and on tour, has been compared to that of a man wading through high tide." Roy Blount, Jr.

"Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet.." Collette

And my own quote - Cats always have an escape route. Diane

Having had a cat when I was growing up, I relate to them... LOVE those quotes.

Your drawing is marvelous. From someone who cannot draw a stick person, you are TERRIFIC.
Hugs,
Betsy

I've never had a cat, but I've enjoyed my friends' cats. Too many family members are terribly allergic - too bad!
