Pinecones and Roses

I've again been made painfully aware of the unknown impact we make in other people's lives.

A lady who was the County Clerk and also worked at the courthouse for many years previously took her own life yesterday. She was 60 years old and I'm sure she worked in that office for at least 25 years. She had been accused of wrongdoing. It's hard for me to believe that she would have done anything wrong when she's worked at the courthouse for so long and has a sterling reputation.

People walk this earth carrying heavy burdens and thinking they're alone in their battle, no one cares, they don't mean much to others. They end up taking their own life. Then the outpouring of support from the community. If only they knew how much they meant to people, if only they knew what people really thought about them. Maybe they would have been able to reach out for some kind of help.

It reminds me to always give my best to everyone I come in contact with. You never know what people are going through.

Oh Diane, no truer words. Some carry burdens that they could never carry alone. This is sad news.
As you can imagine, my husband sees a lot of suicide and attempts in his line of work and it certainly takes it's toll. I always feel for the ones left behind.

How true Diane. It is sad to think that a lot of people aren't there for you when you really need them. That is why it is so important for all of us to repeatedly tell loved ones that we love them.
Sometimes it is hard to pick up on what people are thinking and also those contemplating suicide rarely show the emotions they are feeling.
To many people are caught up in the hustle and bustle of their own lives that they forget to stop and try to listen to what others are saying.

It is always so sad to think that people can get to a point where they feel suicide is their only option. Prayers ascend for her family and co-workers as they process it all.

This is so sad Diane, thanks for reminding us though that it may be one kind word spoken to someone that could change the course of their day.

How sad for your community, Diane. Suicide leaves so many questions unanswered. I believe that your response is right on - pay attention to people and let them know how much they mean to you, whether in the way they do their jobs or say 'hello' or just by being there for you.
I appreciate seeing the notice that you've posted! I always know that there will be something interesting or beautiful to look at and read.
