Not for Everyone

I realize that it's not to every one's taste but I love it. I found it at SA for $25.00 during the Christmas holidays. $25.00 was a lot right then but I felt that if I didn't buy it then it would be gone.

Since I read Robin Brown's A Bit of Velvet & A Dash of Lace http://www.magnoliapearl.com/book.htm I've had peacocks on my brain. She tells stories of being raised in the company of 400 peacocks. In one of the stories she figures out how to get candy money by pulling the peacock's tail feathers out and inserting a feather into the eraser of a pencil. She then sells the pencils to the kids in class. She says how beautiful it was to look out over the classroom and see all of the peacock feathers swaying and dipping as the children wrote.

Back to the lamp. What really makes this beautiful is the shade. In the daytime it looks much like a beautiful peacock. Diane

Beautiful lamp shade, Diane. Glad you found it... I'm sure it would have been gone soon if you hadn't have picked it up when you did...

Lucky Gal!!!! I can see why you are so proud of it.
Hugs,
Betsy

I love seeing the male with his tail all flared out! The iridescence is so amazingly beautiful.

I love, love, love it - what a find!
We have peacocks that wander through some of the neighbourhoods around here - they are beautiful, but noisy and very messy. Better to have them on a lamp!

I agree with PONDSIDE. I love the lamp and I love peacocks, but I would rather have the lamp than the real thing. A real beauty.
