Indecision

It's no wonder I can't make up my mind when I try to make up a menu. I was born in the 40's so real food (food before calories were invented to ruin things!) is pretty important, but then there are health issues to think about, and heirloom recipes. The Joy of Cooking is the most used cook book and Martha Stewart is on hand for when I have large fancy embassy dinners for heads of state. If I could I'd be a vegetarian but that doesn't work very well with a husband who is meat and potatoes. So I guess it really goes back to the basics............chocolate! Diane

You can't go wrong with chocolate, after all isn't it one of the food groups? :) I love cookbooks, not that I am such a great cook, but, they are better than a magazine to browse through.

Oh yes! Chocolate is a food staple! I am going veggie this year.. In fact am about 90% raw now. At 62 I am so very aware that I need to change my life style dramatically and so I have chosen raw diet. We will have grilled fish now and then as my sweet husband loves fish but no red meat or even pork. It is not easy as I love love love meat! BUT for now and till 50 lbs are gone from my small frame it is veggies!

Love the pictures of your cook books.. Pick one!

I have always been a basic person when it comes to cooking. Nothing fancy but now it is becoming boring and I need to get into some healthier recipes.I think that's what happens when you come from an English family.
Yea, chocolate...it has been forbidden for me the last six weeks but next week...watch out, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!
Have a great weekend Diane.

Good morning, Diane. I don't know how I stumbled on your blogsite - I'd have to retrace my steps to find out. Whatever - I've had the nicest hour reading some of your old posts and have enjoyed myself immensely. You wrote 'I want my little blog to be a pleasant, lovely place for you to visit.' I'd say you've succeeded!

Oh my! I'd just love to sit down and thumb through some of those. I do a lot of browsing through mine, but, when it gets down to the nitty gritty-the same old stand-bys show up on our table. It kinda makes ya feel homey, like Suzie Homemaker to sit and read the receipes. Love, Patsy
