Grandma's Wreaths

Grandma and Grandpa lived in a log house that he built. This is a little painting I made of it. A lot of my Christmas memories go back to happy times with them in that house. One was the two wreaths which Grandma hung with great ceremony in the front windows at Christmastime. They were the old celluloid or early plastic with a red candle in the middle. Those wreaths lit up the yard and surrounding area with their cheerful light.

I don't know what happened to them but I was fortunate enough to find one at a garage sale. In the middle picture it shows what it looks like and on the bottom it shows how magical it looks in the dark. This in my mind is Grandma's wreath and now the Christmas season has officially begun. Diane

What precious memories you have. I never had a Christmas with a Grandparents. I do remember a visit once with my Baba, must have been when she came, I think I was three...... She held me on her lap and someone took our picture. Can't remember anything except that one tiny memory.
How lovely that found the wreath and that it gives you such a wonderful Christmas spirit!

What a pleasant memory Diane, when we were growing up, we always knew that the house had transformed inside, when we came home from school to see Mom had hung the bristle wreath on the back door. It was just tiny, but it always brought in the Christmas season. Thanks for bringing that memory back.
