Getting Back to "Normal"

I, too, am ready to start putting Christmas things away. Sorting them, packing away for next year. Each year when I do this I always wonder what they will find when I (hopefully) unpack them next Christmas. What will the world be like, what will our home be like. Many people open their Christmas decorations in a new home, I don't that that will happen. Whatever, it just feels good to put them away and put the house back together. In Simple Abundance by Sarah ban Breathnach she talks about the soul of a house. If my home has a soul I think it's like a very proper old lady. I think she is quite happy to have things back where they are supposed to be. Diane

We are creatures of habit, aren't we Diane???? We like things as they ARE... BUT--who knows??? Life changes and next Christmas may be completely different for both of us. I hope not---but we don't always know what can or will happen. In the meantime, let's just enjoy the "now"--and pray for the best in 2010.
Hugs,
Betsy

I agree with you. I think there is much anticiaption about what the New Year will be like. I like this vignette on your table.

Happy 2010!

Hi Diane,
I am planning to give this house a good scrubbing down after I put the Christmas decor away, so I'm not in a hurry.lol I do like to spend all New Years day putting things in boxes and packing them away for next year.
If my house has a soul (which I believe it does) it is saying 'CLEAN ME'.
I loved reading your list of blessings!

Beautiful post Diane, I hope next year is more settled, I plan to find something everyday to make me smile, and to make someone else smile. We all need that joy.
