Thoughts and Words

Many years of journals and art journals. As you can see, I'm unable to stick with one size, restlessly going from one size for a while and then down to a smaller size, no consistency. Oh, well.
In the latest issue of http://www.wherewomencreate.com/ about mixed-media artist, Janice Lowry who now has given her journals to the Smithsonian Archives of American Art - 126 of them, I believe. Her journals all seem to be of the same basic size and they all fit neatly into a bookcase. I think that's nice but I just can't get my mind to work that way.
Even at that I'm kind of pleased with my journals. But I would never be so brave as to donate them to a museum. You might as well donate your brain, same thing. Diane

Diane, I love the stacks of journals! Oh fabulous they are. The different sizes and types makes them so much more interesting and eye catching then matching uniform ones. To me they are perfect!
Like you!!!

Wow Diane that's alot of journals! What joy though to your daughters to have those many years from now, and trace the steps their mom took. As I said though, many years from now. I really need to journal, everytime I start, it never lasts long.

Hi Diane, Glad to hear from you. I too have journals of all shapes and sizes. They are in a big box --since I don't display them on a bookshelf. Don't know who in my family will ever want them---but I hope someone will be interested in passing them along to someone in my family in the future.

Hugs,
Betsy

What a wonderful legacy for your girls someday Diane. Who cares if they are all the same size... they all contain pieces of you, which will be priceless to those who know and love you. :c)

Diane, you have so many memories and history in those journals. What a wonderful legacy you have for your family.I don't think size matters as long as you are happy with what you have written in them.
Hugs.
