Moving Up

Do you remember seeing the commercial where an unfortunate person holds up progress in a large department store? The clock ticks loudly, time drags, everybody, every transaction, is frozen in time while the person commits the unspeakable crime of..........................writing a check. Well, that person has been me. I feel like I'm the only one left on the planet who still writes a check and when I write a check in the checkout line I feel like everything gets very quiet all around me.

Well, not anymore, I have joined the modern age, I'm just like everybody else. Yes I did it. I got a debit card. Diane

We write SOME checks these days --but usually at home, when we are paying bills. Remember though, have your check written out ahead of time (except for the amount) --so as not to make people behind you wait too long.. ha ha (Remember my blog on manners!!! ha)

Hugs,
Betsy

Hi, I've seen your name in the comments list on a few blogs that i visit too. I often wonder if anyone muddles us,having the same name. However I notice you use an uppercase D and I use lower case, so hopefully that will tell us apart. Happy blogging.

Good for you Diane! My husband hasn't come to that point yet and I wish he would. I had to write a check today, he won't fill them out, I have to so they're legible, and I feel the hair raise on the back of my neck as those behind me show with their body language that I'm not their favorite person at the moment! Aargh! I hate it!

Yea Diane!! It's SOOOO much easier, truly. OK, so I have to admit it... I am one of those people who wonder why people write checks anymore, and probably sigh to myself in the back of the line!

Good for you Diane. It makes life a bit easier but then we never seem to carry much in cash anymore. I still have to write a check each month for my rent so I to have those strange pieces of paper hanging around, lol.
Hugs.
