A New and Exciting Creature

I took this picture of the wild turkeys in our neighborhood during the bad cold spell we just had. They were just trying to keep cold like all the other creatures and they look like.........well, wild turkeys.

But today as we walked I glanced down the alley behind our houses and there strutting around was a beautiful new creature, no two of them, no three!!
I snapped pictures from every angle but they just wouldn't get away from these garbage cans.
It was so much fun seeing them in their full array of feathers and ostentatiousness (sp?).

You have quite a flock of them in your neighborhood now. You'd better start thinning them-like for Thanksgiving! No, not really. I really like the pictures you take of them. Love, P

Hi Diane, We have wild turkeys around here---but they never come near our houses... I have to walk out in the woods in order to see them.

You have some gorgeous ones near you. Can you grab one and keep him as a 'pet'???? Wonder what Rascal would say????? ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Aren't they a hoot? I love seeing them with their feathers displayed like that too!

I've seen quite a few turkeys in the wild around here lately, but never with their feathers out! What great pictures Diane, even with the garbage cans!
